Blood Chemistry Analysis FAQ
How is this different from the blood tests my GP orders?
GPs order panels designed to screen for disease. The reference ranges they use are deliberately wide because they're built to catch people who are already unwell. Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis uses narrower, evidence-based optimal ranges — and includes markers your GP rarely orders, such as fasting insulin, free T3, T4 and detailed nutrient panels. The same blood. A completely different interpretation.
How is this different from the Metabolic Balance® program?
Metabolic Balance® is a 12-week nutrition program that uses blood chemistry as its foundation. The Blood Chemistry Analysis is a standalone service - you get the interpretation, the report, and the 45-minute consultation, without committing to the full program. Many clients use the Blood Chemistry Analysis as their first step, then move into Metabolic Balance® once they have clarity on their priorities.
What does the price include - is pathology separate?
The $495 fee covers blood pathology, Sharon's clinical review, the report, and the 45-minute consultation.
Do I need a referral?
No GP referral is needed. Sharon arranges the pathology request directly. You simply visit the recommended local pathology collection centre for the blood draw — no appointment required at most locations. Results are sent directly to Sharon, who then prepares your report.
Can I use blood tests I've already had done?
Unfortunately not. To ensure your analysis is accurate and complete, we require a fresh blood panel arranged through WNutrition. Our functional analysis covers a specific set of markers — many of which are not included in standard GP panels — and we need to know that every marker has been tested using current, consistent methodology. Using previous blood tests risks missing critical data points or working from results that no longer reflect where your body is today.
How long until I get my results?
Pathology results typically take 3–5 business days to come through. Sharon then prepares your written report, which generally takes a further 2–3 business days. Your 45-minute results review consultation is usually scheduled within 1–2 weeks of your blood draw. Total time from booking to results review: approximately 2 weeks.
Can I do this online?
Yes — Sharon consults with clients across Australia and New Zealand online. The blood draw itself is done at any local recommended pathology collection centre near you (no need to visit Brisbane). The results review consultation is conducted via telehelath call. The report is delivered digitally.
